About Maximum Miracle Centre
Maximum Miracle Centre is a faith-based ministry founded on the transformative power of salvation through Jesus Christ, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the redeeming blood of Jesus.
Our Beginnings
The church began in 1995 through passionate street evangelism in Nairobi. Led by our founders, Bishop Dr. Pius Muiru and Rev. Dr. Lucy Muiru, lunchtime gospel meetings in the city center drew large crowds seeking hope and salvation. These gatherings quickly outgrew their initial settings, moving to a cinema hall in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to accommodate the increasing demand. The ministry’s growth led to the introduction of Sunday services, which expanded the outreach further.
Crusades and Growth
The ministry’s vibrant gospel message soon reached neighborhoods across Nairobi through frequent crusades. Within just three years, the cinema hall, with a capacity of over 2,000, could no longer contain the congregation, necessitating two services to meet the growing demand.
Expanding the Reach
In 1999, God opened new doors for Bishop Pius Muiru to enter radio and television ministry with the nationally broadcasted program Kuna Nuru Gizani (Light in Darkness). This platform elevated the ministry to a national stage, leading to the launch of the Kuna Nuru Gizani crusades, which attracted multitudes to stadiums across Kenya. People experienced salvation, healing, deliverance, and spiritual empowerment.
Maximum Melodies and Awards
By God’s grace, the ministry birthed Maximum Melodies, a dynamic dance and drama group that gained regional acclaim, winning several awards, including the prestigious Kora Award for Best Spiritual Group in Africa. Their performances brought further recognition to the ministry across East Africa and beyond.
Building the Church
As the congregation continued to grow, affiliated churches began to open across Kenya. In Nairobi, the need for more space led to the purchase of land in a city estate, where a new church was built for Sunday services. This expansion allowed the ministry to accommodate the large crowds while continuing to hold two concurrent services every Sunday.
In addition, the ministry acquired a facility in Nairobi’s CBD, which now serves as the church’s headquarters.
Compassion in Action
In 2002, during a crusade at Uhuru Park, Bishop Muiru extended a compassionate hand to street children in attendance, leading to the establishment of a children’s home. This home, which thrives to this day, has supported many children who have gone on to become professionals in various fields, including law.
Media Ministry
In 2017, Maximum Miracle Centre launched NURU TV, a television station that broadcasts nationwide. This platform has further amplified the ministry’s reach, sharing the gospel and transforming lives across Kenya.
Our Legacy
Maximum Miracle Centre has become a household name in Kenya, known for soul-winning, compassion, and vibrant ministry. What God has done through this ministry continues to be amazing, and we remain committed to bringing hope and transformation to lives across the nation and beyond.
